Brit Floyd’s “Discovery World Tour” Visits Grand Rapids March 17

If reviews of past performances are any indications, and they certainly are, DeVos Performance Hall will be rocking with spectacular music and lights when the heralded Brit Floyd comes to Grand Rapids for a March 17 performance.
With talented live musicians recreating the Pink Floyd musical catalogue, Brit Floyd take a giant leap forward from the “Dark Side of the Moon” laser lights shows of years past, which mostly featured recorded music.

To check out their street cred, take a look at this review from “Rock Chicago Magazine” about a Brit Floyd show from two years ago:
“The light show that these guys put on was incredible. There were all sorts of lasers and lights that followed perfectly with the music. Usually, the element of a light show comes with a Pink Floyd tribute band, and Brit Floyd really knew how to pull it off. I’ve seen a lot of Pink Floyd tribute bands that come through town, and these guy were honestly the best I’ve seen.”
For their Discovery World Tour 2014, Brit Floyd brings to DeVos music from all 14 of Pink Floyd’s studio albums – truly a walk back into some of the best and most mind-blowing music in rock history.

Debuting in Liverpool in 2011 – with several musicians from the incredible Australian Pink Floyd tribute band of a few years back – Brit Floyd has played for more than a million fans worldwide to earn its reputation and the World’s Greatest Pink Floyd Show.
Coming to Grand Rapids is the new show with a three-hour chronological musical journey through the entire Pink Floyd catalogue spanning from 1967 to 1994.

More from Brit Floyd’s 2012 Chicago show review: “The reason why they are the best is Ian Cattell, the bassist and vocalist. I have never heard anyone who sounded more like Roger Waters in my life. If you closed your eyes, you would think it was actually him.”
Besides the expertly-performed Floyd music, the Brit Floyd concert features the trademark Pink Floyd arch and circle light show and is accompanied by original video and new animation inspired by the designs of longtime Pink Floyd collaborator Storm Thorgerson.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. March 17 Grand Rapids show are $37, $42 and $47 – are available at the DeVos Place & Van Andel Arena box offices and from Ticketmaster locations.

This is a must-see show: Some of the best classic rock ever meets modern sound and laser light technology. It’ll be a night to remember.
