The Cottage Bar – Beginnings

Earl and Marie Coon first opened the Cottage Bar in 1927. Even in those days, they were known for their savory burgers. Their burgers were so popular that hundreds of them were ordered every day! Business was booming at what came to be called “The Olde Cottage Bar and Grill” through Prohibition and beyond.

The Cottage Bar changed hands in 1952 and again in 1967. From Prohibition through the rocking sixties, the Cottage Bar kept up its stellar reputation as the best place to get a juicy burger and a cold beer. The third owner, the Verhil family, continue this proud tradition to this day!
